From October 23rd to 26th, the 19th British Invention Show was held in London. Prof. Zhang Haiou's team from MSE of HUST won the Double Gold Prize with the "Intelligent Micro-Casting and Forging Additive Manufacturing" technology, which was the special prize better than the gold prize.

The British Invention Show was founded in 2001, which was hosted by organizations like the British Inventors Society with the support of British Intellectual Property Office. The show is one of the world's most influential shows, which is honored as "the world's largest and best showing hall for research and development".
The British Inventors Show is aimed to bring more inventions and creative productions as well as investing opportunities to industries. There are more than 600 inventions from over 20 countries in the show every year.
The technology of Prof. Zhang's team solved many universal problems of traditional manufacturing like long-time process, heavy pollution, high energy consumption and so on, and also overcame shortcomings of it. For example, with this technology, the processing time can be shortened by over 60%, energy consumption be reduced by 90% and cost by 60%. The technology has already been used in fields like aeronautics, astronautics, ocean engineering and so on.
