From September 20th to 21st, the 2019 International Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing (ICIM 2019) was successfully held in Wuhan. The ICIM 2019 was initiated by Chinese Academy of Engineering, hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), and co-organized by the Military-civilian Integration and Development Office of Hubei Provincial Committee, HEXAGON Manufacturing Intelligence Department and the State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology of HUST.
Attendees of the conference included Academician Zhou Ji of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Shao Xinyu, Party Secretary of HUST, Academician Li Peigen and Huang Qingxue of Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as other about 300 experts in intelligent manufacturing field from countries like America, Germany, Japan, Korea, India, Netherlands, Sweden and Canada. Experts gathered together to discuss cutting-edge technologies in intelligent manufacturing and development strategies of the new generation of intelligent manufacturing power, helping the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.
Academician Zhou Ji and Li Peigen served as co-chairmen of the conference. Academician Shen Weiming of Canadian Academy of Engineering and Prof. Gao Liang of MSE, HUST were co-chairmen of the steering committee. Prof. Shao Xinyu gave the opening address at the opening ceremony, which was chaired by Academician Zhou Ji.
At the conference, 9 invited special reports were given.
Nearly 9000 people attended the webcast of the conference. Attendees of the conference and lecturers carried out deep exchange and interaction. Academician Shen Weiming concluded at the closing ceremony that the conference provided a high-level academic change platform for experts in intelligent manufacturing both at home and abroad, helping with the development of intelligent manufacturing in the future.
The success of the conference not only laid a good foundation for the development of international intelligent manufacturing association in the future, but also would deepen the international exchange and cooperation of HUST in intelligent manufacturing, contributing for the rapid development of China's manufacturing industry.
